Once the pride of Hotels on the False Bay coast, The St James is no less dedicated to the comfort and well-being of its Residents. A protected sunny terrace "La Terrasse", overlooks False Bay where, during the season, the whales can be seen frolicking.

La Terrasse offers a variety of pub style meals from our a la carte menu or indulge in our famous scones and tea alternatively one can dine in Gentry's, the Hotel's well appointed Restaurant where you can enjoy three meals per day. In addition, a traditional buffet lunch is served on Wednesdays and Sundays. Monthly dinner dances with entertainment provided set the tone in the elegant Dining room.

The accommodation includes 51 suites in the Main building, 8 Simplexes, 2 Villas and 2 Cottages.

The extensive lounge areas, the library and conference room where regular talk shows are given, provide for the comfort and companionship of Residents.

In addition to a private bus service run by The St James there is ample parking available for Residents having their own vehicles. A tranquil pool area is a peaceful haven situated at the rear of the Hotel against a backdrop of sea on the one side and mountain the other. Escape with a good book and enjoy the view and birdsong.

Or…stroll across the road to The St James beach and tidal pool and soak up the sun on the benches conveniently placed on the grassy stretch for whale watching and ship spotting. Our private beach hut provides a convenient change room for the early morning bathers.
